Baby Daniel Is Here!

Enjoy the pictures and birth story.  I have not had time to proof-read so I apologize for any mistake.   My friend Angela took this picture along with the next 4 pictures.  She did such a great job!  My daughter Allysha singing to her baby brother.  Daddy with all his boys!   The first time the kids saw baby. Daddy is in love. Because of my elevated blood pressure, my induction date for our dear Daniel was on Thursday, November 8th.  I was so ready to have him and so excited we had a date that we would have him for sure. Daniel…well, he decided he didn't want to wait till 6am the morning of his induction.  No way!  He decided he wanted to start the process at midnight.  This is when I started having intense contractions right away 5-7 minutes apart.  By 2pm I went to the bathroom, wiped and saw "boody show".  I knew then it was on.  Contractions at this point were clos...

5 Month Maternity Pictures

My 13 year daughter took these today for me at the Nature Preserve.  I was very excited.  Enjoy!

Changes on the Horizon?

I first want to apologize for not blogging in quite awhile. Life has gotten crazy and I had to take time for my family.  In the midst of all this crazy, I have even more so found out that God's ways are not my own.  Funny eigh? For years Matthew and I wanted babies, babies, babies.  With 3 living children and 4 (maybe 5) miscarriages, then moving into adrenal problems we decided we were done.  Did you notice I said "we"?  Funny that. Just a couple weeks ago (has it been that long already), my children left with my mother-in-law to go be with her for a whole week so my body could have a chance to rest.  At least that was MY plan. You seeing where this is going? The very first whole day the kids were gone, I went to the store to pick up a pregnancy test.  Not to see if I was pregnant but to confirm that the reason I was late was because I had been stressed.  This in my mind was to confirm I was indeed not pregnant so I could move on with my ...

My favorite baby items

I have so many friends and family members pregnant. With that in mind it got me thinking about my favorite baby products, items Nosefrida This crazy little snot sucker is amazing and has kept my boys from getting more sick because of mucus build up. Once it's stuck in the nose area it breeds more bacteria leaving little ones sick longer. I was referred to this by my friend Jamie Veprek. I'll admit, at first I was grossed out by the idea but knew i needed something that cleared out the little noses better than anything I've used before. These are amazing! When congestion was bad I'd put my baby in his bassinet in the bathroom with me. I'd take a nice hot shower to steam it up well, thus helping loosen the stuff in his nose. After I got out I'd suck like crazy and clear out his nose followed by a saline solution if it was really bad. It worked wonders! I also did this with my son Jon. As soon as we got the nasty green stuff out, he was feeling bette...

A Wrap Came For Me Today!

Ok, it did not come today but last week. I needed something with a bit less stretch as Joshua gets bigger. I found money I had hidden away rainy day money and decided to get this with it. Isn't the packaging just lovely! You can find out more about Lil' Peeper Keepers at http://www.etsy.com/shop/lilpeeperkeepers Not only did I get a sling in lovely packaging, each sling also comes with a dvd showing you how to use your sling in different positions. This is very easy to understand which is nice for someone like me. So, a big thank you to Lil' Peepers Keepers and her lovely/functional work of art!

Babywearing in the Winter!

I have looked and looked online at an amazing babywearing coat that while on sale is still almost $100! Not quite in the budget. While going through older maternity clothing and things I no longer wear, I found this maternity coat. I purchased it before I was pregnant with Jon (in the hopes of getting pregnant) and never wore it! It got it for around $5 used but in great shape. Long story short, I thought this could possibly work while I am babywearing. I tried it tonight just before we headed out for the library. It indeed worked! So there you go. As you can see, Joshua is totally content :)

Two Make One

I saw an idea for this picture on a friends facebook page and just had to try to get a cute picture of my son myself. That little stinker would not sit still! This is the best we were able to do. I just love the idea of pictures like this. I see the two rings and think, yeah, it really does take two. Two to fall in love, two to make that precious little baby, and two to take care of it the way babies need to be taken care of. God designed man and woman from the beginning of time to be with one another in a beautiful and intimate way and look at the little reward that love has given us!

Baby Hands

Today Joshua and I had such a lovely time together. We explored his little hands along with my own. I showed him my hand and he showed me his. I rubbed my fingers on his and he rubbed his fingers on mine. He then grabbed my thumb and gently held it in his little hands. This made me realize just how a relationship with a new baby and a relationship with a new couple are the same. In both relationships, everything is so new, sweet and tender. Every touch is divine. May my relationships with my children, husband, family, friends and everyone I meet be this sweet and tender.
