My Adrenal Fatigue/Thyroid Walk Part 3

I feel like so much has happened since my last post and yet not.  Let's see....

I had another test a month and a half or so later (maybe two) to see if my tsh, free t4 and free t3 levels had changed and they had not.  Although I will say overall I've been feeling much better.  That is until my doctor said, "Let's do a RAIU" which is a Radioactive Iodine Uptake test.  The reason this test is used is to see exactly what is going on.  He knows I have a nodule on my thyroid and wonders about Toxic Goiter.  Up to this point I had been doing all he asked and to be honest, it was all simple blood tests and such.  Oh and the saliva test which put me down for awhile but still...I wasn't taking toxins into my body.   I was struggling with this RAIU because you take a little pill that is actually radioactive iodine.  The next day, they do a scan and that will show them what's going on.

The cons:
I have enough health issues, I don't need to add toxins into the mix.

The pros:
This will show my doctor and myself what is going on.

After much prayer and against what I normally would choose, I would say I am at peace with having this test done.  Like a dear Christian and natural friend told me, I like this doctor and he is the first guy I've trusted in many, many years.  He's been so good at giving me certain tests (the right ones) to try to get to the bottom of this.  He told me he'd do all he could and he sure is.  So, with that, i'm taking the test and keeping it all in prayer.  Afterwards I also plan to take Super Algae by Nature's Sunshine to combat the toxins from the RAI.

My herbalist said I have a hypothalamus issue which would totally explain the thyroid issues.  After I get the scan info, I'll talk with my doctor and herbalist and find the best way to finish combatting this all.

Prayers would be appreciated.  I thought I was close to being done with this.  Only time will tell whether or not that is the case.  I will say I have seen the following improvements over the past few months.
~More energy overall and more stamina
~Regulated body temperatures!!!  I was 97.9 since jr. high.  When I was at my worst my temp was 97.2.  Now guess what?  My temp is almost consistently at 98.5.  To me this is nothing short of a miracle!  To me my body is slowly coming around!

I was born without a thyroid and I've been taking thyroid natural supplements every night to fill in missing hormones my body needs. If I didn't have this product I would be barely alive. This medicine is my life-line.

My Adult Tonsillectomy Story

Post Surgery as soon as I arrived home. For anyone who really knows me, I have always been completely terrified of surgery.  So when I went to an ENT and he said I needed a tonsillectomy I was not very happy.  I found out in either January or February and I couldn't make my appointment till the end of June because that's when my husband could get off work to help out.  I wrote this so I could hopefully help someone going through the same thing.  Without further ado, here goes. Week Before Surgery: This is when I started purchasing everything I had seen online that might be helpful.  I also started setting up an area on the main floor where I could be inclined for sleeping and have everything at my finger tips.  At the bottom of this post I will have a list of items that I personally found helpful for my recovery.  I also have food allergies and tried to stay away from them as much as possible.  So my food options may seem different than ma...

Summer Herbal Tea

I made this up a couple years ago and it has def. been a summer favorite for me as well as for my kids.  If you can't drink black tea because of the caffeine (or other reasons), give this a try. Ingredients: 3 parts red raspberry leaf tea (not raspberry flavored) 1 part peppermint tea water Directions: 1. Steep tea as your normally would.  For me I use enough boiled water for a 2 quart pitcher.  I usually add in 6 Red Raspberry tea bags and 2 Peppermint Tea Bags.  If I have bulk, each tea bag itself usually contains about 1 teaspoon of loose tea.  I steep for 10 - 15 minutes, then take the tea bags out. 2. Add sweetener to taste - honey, stevia, etc... 3. Chill. It's that simple. What you're left with is a refreshing glass of tea for those hot summer days.  Below are some benefits of each of these teas.  Use caution when drinking peppermint tea while pregnant.  Spearmint is generally a better option. Red Raspberry Leaf Pepper...
