Pizza Bites and Brother In A Bag. ...

I bet you're wondering what the Brother in a Bag is eigh? Well you'll just have to wait and see.

I found a recipe entitled PIzza Bites on the For the Love of Cooking blog awhile back. My mother-in-law had brought over a bag of frozen bread rolls not realizing I had already made some from scratch. I thought it'd be neat to alter the recipe a bit that I had seen online and make these fun little bites. You will see my daughter (or rather her hands) making these yummy treats.

Ingredients:
1 cup meat
2 cups cheese
pizza sauce
1 package frozen dinner rolls- thawed
olive oil
garlic powder
freshly grated romano

Directions:
1. Mix the cheese, meat of choice (we used cut up pepperoni) and just enough sauce to wet the mixture.

2. By hand, flatten out a dough ball and place a teaspoon full of mixture inside. Seal it up by pinching the sides together and place sealed side down on a baking pan. Repeat till all rolls are filled.

3. Mix together a bit of olive oil and garlic powder. With a basting brush put some on top and sides of each pizza bite.

4. Bake at 400 degrees for 16 minutes or till bread is done all the way through.
5. When they come out of the oven, place on a serving platter and shred some fresh romano cheese on the top. Enjoy!

Last but not least, the moment you've been waiting for - finding out what a Brother in a Bag is. We were sitting down at the table eating our dessert while Joshua was on the floor on the living room. All the sudden he started crying. Jon ran over to help his little brother. In order to entertain his brother, Jon got Lyshie's large chico bag and proceeded to try and put Joshua inside. Thankfully, the bag just ended up lain on top of Joshua. And, needless to say, Jon had totally calmed Joshua down. Oh what we'll have in store for us next. lol!

My Adult Tonsillectomy Story

Post Surgery as soon as I arrived home. For anyone who really knows me, I have always been completely terrified of surgery.  So when I went to an ENT and he said I needed a tonsillectomy I was not very happy.  I found out in either January or February and I couldn't make my appointment till the end of June because that's when my husband could get off work to help out.  I wrote this so I could hopefully help someone going through the same thing.  Without further ado, here goes. Week Before Surgery: This is when I started purchasing everything I had seen online that might be helpful.  I also started setting up an area on the main floor where I could be inclined for sleeping and have everything at my finger tips.  At the bottom of this post I will have a list of items that I personally found helpful for my recovery.  I also have food allergies and tried to stay away from them as much as possible.  So my food options may seem different than ma...

2020 From A Chronic Illness Warrior

Friends, the year 2020 has definitely looked different that’s for sure.  It’s been interesting talking to my other friends with chronic illnesses and getting their perspective.  For me this is what has changed.   Positives: There have been more online freebies as far as events than I have ever seen. This has been great for the person with chronic illness and we all hope some of these things continue.  Things such as online church, zoo, ballets, concerts, etc.   No more trying to fake feeling good when I had to go out because I’m not getting out.   So many more places are doing online pick up instead of just Walmart and Kroger. I needed those services before coronavirus hit the United States. Now having so many more options; it’s been a wonderful!! People finally don’t guilt trip me into going to events and family functions because they know I’m high risk. Before I felt like I had to explain away everything if I didn’t feel good enough to go somewhere. ...

Christmas Gift Planning Year Round

Picture borrowed from http://moneysavingmom.com/2011/09/get-a-jump-start-on-holiday-shopping.html/christmas-presents I love to plan my Christmas gifts starting in January.  This helps me not only save money but save sanity.  I save money because I have all year to look for those specific items and it saves my sanity because my family is not stressed about what to get someone.  We're prepared. Here's a few steps that have helped me. 1. First decide if you want to make all/some of your gifts.  If you want to make them, try to find neat and unique ideas online.  I LOVE pinterest.com for getting great ideas. 2. Is there someone in your family that has a lot of stuff?  For those people I get the same thing every year.  For our grandparents we do pictures in some form and homemade goodies.  For my mom and dad, I always get them a gift certificate to a Bed and Breakfast and add in something small for each one. 3. Make a list of everyone...
